The Wooly One
This mossy, holey, bendy and twisty tree exudes a friendly welcome to all who pass her on the trail. I’ve often likened the Hoh Rainforest loop trail experience to going to the zoo, except in place of animals, there are weird trees each with their own unique personality. I’m also drawn to all the cavities that are created by the the twisting, growing, decaying root structures of the trees that are growing from layers and layers of ancestor trees. Little animals, fungi, and plants peeking out of these cavities everywhere. It’s just a friendly day in the forest.
